Château Purcari stands as a leading producer of high-quality wines in the Republic of Moldova, employing cutting-edge ecological products and methods to safeguard and nurture its vineyards against pests.
Ghenadie Carai, the agronomist overseeing Purcari's vineyards, underscores the necessity of meticulous care and responsibility to ensure a harvest of superior quality. Protecting the vines from potential threats, particularly invasive insects like the European grapevine moth (Lobesia botrana) and the vine moth (Eupoecilia ambiguella), is a top priority. These pests, if unchecked, can compromise grape quality, leading to the development of gray or black mold and adversely impacting the produced wine.
In addressing these challenges, Purcari's specialists sought the expertise of Eco Center to implement control measures across dozens of hectares of Rară Neagră, Fetească Neagră, and Chardonnay. Specifically, traps and mating disruption dispensers were used, which disorient the pests – a method that is environmentally safe and aligns with Château Purcari's sustainability policies.
Eco Center has earned its status as a trusted brand for farmers, underscoring its commitment to providing effective and environmentally conscious solutions.
